My name is Mason—electrical engineer, physicist, aviation geek, musician, among other things. For as far back as I can remember I've been taking things apart to see what makes them tick, and I knew I wanted to be an electrical/computer engineer from a young age.

I was born on the first day of my life, and since then, things have gotten considerably more complicated. I started out in Colorado, but somehow, I wound up in Manhattan, Kansas and I've lived there for most of my life. I recently earned my two Bachelor's degrees from Kansas State University in Electrical Engineering and General Physics, also with a minor in Mathematics. I've been told I give off cool uncle energy.

As you can probably tell, I am a huge fan of retro web design, and really all things mid-2000s. Having grown up in what I would argue was a pivotal time for tech, this has shaped and even defined my path as an electrical engineer in a number of ways that go beyond just nostalgia. This was a time marked by optimism for the future and seemingly endless innovation, and I strive to embody that in my line of work.

I believe that while innovation can be exciting and fulfilling, it is important to remind ourselves that at the center of technological progress, the goal should ultimately be enrichment for humans, with human beings firmly in the driver's seat. Above all, I firmly believe that human beings are not replaceable—human designers, human laborers, human engineers, and human artists. The keyword and guiding principle is human.

I may be a photographer in surname only (pronounced "kuh-MEH-ruh"), but that doesn't stop me from capturing a moment or two. I happen to live by the phrase, "a picture says a thousand words". On my Gallery page, you'll find quite a few highlights from my travels, adventures, projects, and everyday life—along with anything else I thought was worth pointing a camera at.
